Is Lamisil the only ';cure'; for nail fungus ?

I was recommended this treatment by our local pediotrist, and I KNOW it works very well and doesn't affect your liver. It's called ';Onycol';, and you can get it at your local health food store, sold in 1 oz. bottle for $20--but that will last for at least 6 months. It's a solution that is derived from citrus, and you just put a very small amount all around the outer cuticle of the nail and along the skin line under the nail morning %26amp; night. Only disadvantage, it makes the nail an orangish color until the fungus in gone. You will need to continue this until the nail grows out, and then use it to maintain no fungus afterward, but the nail won't be orange when it's gone. Neat, huh?Is Lamisil the only ';cure'; for nail fungus ?
No, lots of different medical and non-medical cures. The home remedies that work include Listerine soaks, cornmeal soaks, vinegar soaks, Vicks Vaporub. Go to the People's Pharmacy website and do a search for toenail fungus:

no, there's also a paint on medicine, kinda like a nail polish, it takes longer but dosen't mess with your liver as much
I think prescription medicine is what works best for instance these are the most prescibed RX'S:

';Prescription medicines include griseofulvin (brand name Fulvicin-UF), itraconazole (Sporanox), and terbinafine (Lamisil). Of these medications, itraconazole and terbinafine are the most effective. They cure 70 to 80 percent of infections with one course of treatment. Griseofulvin cures 30 to 70 percent of infections with one course. Doctors sometimes prescribe another drug, fluconazole (Diflucan), but it has not been studied as thoroughly as the other antifungal drugs.

Drug treatment usually takes three months. The medicine gets into the nail and remains there as the nail grows out. It can take up to six months to cure a fingernail infection and up to 18 months for toenail infections because this is how long it can take for the healthy nail to grow out.

More recently, the FDA approved ciclopirox (Penlac) nail lacquer for nail fungus. You apply it like a nail polish once daily to the affected nail(s). While it appears less effective than antifungals taken by mouth, it may be an option for people who want to avoid the risk of side effects from oral antifungals. ';

However here are some home remedies.
That is one that work's for a fact. why does it work because you have to use something that works from inside of the nail bed. And you will actually see the fungus come out of the nail. Anything that you have to apply on top of the nail is not reaching the source of the matter.
There are many different types of anti-fungal medications, but mostly are not over the counter. Has to have prescription.
There is also someting called Fluconazole.It is a medication for infections.It works about the same as Lamisil.

Lamisil is not the only cure for nail fungus. I dont think that works. I suggest you to check out Zetaclear.
